Who We Serve

Our Nonprofit Commitment To Our Schools

HopeFor Learning supports three major school systems in Central Virginia: Richmond City, Chesterfield County, and Henrico County Public Schools, which together serve 165 schools. Richmond City has 37 schools with 24,000 students, Chesterfield County has 61 schools with 58,000 students, and Henrico County has 67 schools with 50,762 students.

Currently, we assist 6 elementary schools:

Jacob Road Elementary in Chesterfield County

Crestwood Elementary in Chesterfield County

G.H. Reid Elementary in Richmond

Miles Jones Elementary in Richmond

Swansboro Elementary in Richmond

Johnson Elementary in Henrico County

At these schools, we focus on promoting literacy, grade-level reading, and academic success for underprivileged and underserved youth. As a dedicated nonprofit, we aim to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the children we serve.

Elementary School Kids K-5 Are Who We're Building

At HopeFor Learning, we emphasize the critical importance of child literacy and grade-level reading for underprivileged elementary students. Research shows that the first four years of schooling, from kindergarten through 3rd grade, are vital for a child's educational trajectory. By supporting school curriculums and reading programs during these formative years, we lay a strong foundation for academic success and prepare students for 4th grade and beyond. Studies indicate that children proficient in reading by 3rd grade are more likely to excel later. Our focus is to empower underprivileged children to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
